Tom Liberatore Bio

Born in Hopedale, MA (1957), a suburb of
Boston, Tom recalls when his older brother quit playing
the guitar and he took it over (at age 8). "The only
obstacle in my way was that I was a lefty, so I changed
the strings around and started what has become the best
ride of my life," states Tom, (Slick, or Lightening
are both common nicknames).
His first real rock band was named AMF, with
Dan D'Alio. They were early teenagers who stayed together
through all of their younger days (the 70's). AMF was a
very popular band, playing the likes of Chicago, BS&T,
Loggins & Messina, Edgar Winter, and so much more. Tom
was also an accomplished baritone sax player and overall
fine musician.
He played most of the guitar tracks for a
new CD release from the Jeff Mason Band called Get Busy
Living and has also backed up Jessica Simpson and many other
notables that have toured in New England.
Tom has been working for PLC Medical Systems, Inc., based
in Franklin, MA since 1991. As the Materials/Purchasing
Manager, PLC has become his extended family, which also
supports his music efforts.
He has been married for 24 years and has one
daughter, his heart and soul. Tom recalls, "She is
a God send. I remember one day when I was tired of moving
from gig to gig. I said that I was thinking of retiring
from music. She said that I needed to continue on and that
great things would happen because of the way that I moved
people when I played." Needles to say she convinced
her Dad to continue on.
After 25 years apart, Tom and Dan reunited in 2004 by mere
chance, meeting at a club in Hopedale, MA. Soon after, they
began performing together in Cleveland, OH, Boston, MA,
and Newport, RI. They will be back in Newport in the summer
of 2008.
Tom's guitar work on Nation's Prayer was critical
to the final production and overall feeling of the work,
produced by Dan D'Alio. His fluid and passionate lines brought
out the Americana guitar style that Dan was searching for.
Tom states, "I am so proud to be able to be a part
of this wonderful production. We must support our troops
and our veterans in every way. Thank you to all."
